Adventure Travel is more than calling a lodge and booking airline tickets. We tried that route. A great fly fishing travel agent is worth their weight in cash. First, any top notch fly fishing travel agent never has an up charge for booking you on a trip of your dreams. You pay the same price as if you were handling the booking yourself at that far off place in Belize for example. We get our fees from the lodges we work with not you. The other thing is that we have visited the lodges and destinations we work with, we also learned that lesson. Generally we travel with a group and help with travel arrangements. We understand the anxiety of arriving in a far away country or new destination and trying to find your way around. We have been there too.

Katmai Trophy Lodge is located on the banks of the famed Naknek River, perfectly situated on the edge of tide water, giving us quick access to both ocean- fresh salmon and the trophy rainbow trout fishing that the Naknek is famous for. We are a full-service fishing lodge in the heart of Bristol Bay just two miles outside the boundary of the world- renowned Katmai National Park. You have probably heard that the Bristol Bay watershed is home to the largest runs of salmon in the world. A lesser known fact is that it is also Alaska’s only designated “Trophy Rainbow Trout” area. Our river system starts in the snow-capped mountains of Katmai National Park flowing down through our beautiful chain of lakes, through rolling tundra hills, ending with the Naknek flowing into the Bering Sea. This unspoiled nutrient rich environment enables our fish to grow to incredible size.
With salmon runs that number in the millions, Trout and Char that grow well over 30”, and some of the best bear viewing in the world, the real question is what are you waiting for?
Nipigon River Adventures offers fly-fishing at its finest. World-class brook trout fishing has brought guests back year after year where with an experienced guide will lead you to the best fishing areas not known to the inexperienced traveller. Life at The Lodge after your adventure is designed to provide a relaxing evening, sumptuous food an incredible view of Lake Superior where sunsets are well … quite frankly superior!
Photography adventure packages require you, your camera and yes, a sturdy pair of shoes that will lead you to some of Ontario’s true north unique locations to capture nature, wildlife and if you’re lucky some unique experience of being in the true north strong and free.
The Fall salmon run on the Nipigon River attracts large numbers of Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures and wildlife ready to pose for the camera.
