This fly is a pattern originated by Major John Popkin Traherne. His flies are often considered to be the most artistic flies of the Victorian era. This fly has been dressed on a B&R Playfair Limerick 7/0 hook. This pattern makes liberal use of Golden Pheasant tippets to form the upper wing and lower keel of the fly and is accented by chekks and a throat of Kingfisher feathers.
